The Intergalactic Purrcussion Lab is purrfectly imperfect. We're creative navigators, not code architects, but we hope it inspires you to engineer new possibilities and boldly go where no one has gone before! We'll continue upgrading its systems, but for now embrace the adventure - and have fun!

NASA RESOURCES expand_more

Resources used in the Intergalactic Purrcussion Lab:

Pulsar and Orbitron
Procedural synthesis lets a computer use math to make sounds from scratch instead of playing recordings. With a special sound toolkit called the Web Audio API, you can make the same fun sounds you hear in classic games like Super Mario Bros. or Tetris.

Find computer and code resources for kids, like TEL4U in our E-Resources.

Entropy
This section uses a random selection of recorded sounds.

Sound Bytes - Historic NASA sounds
Apollo 11: That's One Small Step for (a) Man
Mercury 7: Liftoff
Discovery – Computers are in control
Discovery – Nice to be in orbit

Cosmic Waves - NASA data sonifications
Chandra Deep Field Sonification
Audio of Juno's Ganymede Flyby
NGC 1569
Webb's Southern Ring Nebula Sonification

NASA images

All the cool images, data-turned-into-music, and audio clips come from NASA and live in the public domain. NASA generously shares these incredible resources so everyone can explore and learn, though they don't officially endorse the Sci-Fi & Fantasy Expo or the Intergalactic Purrcussion Lab.
