Public Notice
Montgomery County, Tennessee intends to apply for funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), authorized by Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act. HMGP provides funding to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments to implement long-term measures that reduce the risk of loss of life and property from natural hazards.
Proposed Work and Purpose:
The proposed project consists of installing permanent emergency backup generators, automatic transfer switches, associated fuel lines, electrical connections, and minor site improvements at the following county fire sub-stations:
- Cumberland Heights Substation, 1030 Cumberland Heights Rd, Clarksville, TN 37040
- Woodlawn Substation, 2540 Dotsonville Rd, Clarksville, TN 37042
- Cunningham Substation (Southside), 1980 School Rd, Southside, TN 37171
- Cunningham Substation (Salem), 2320 Seven Mile Ferry Rd, Clarksville, TN 37040
The purpose of the project is to ensure continuity of operations and emergency response capability during utility power outages caused by severe weather and other hazard events. The Montgomery County Fire Department will take ownership and be responsible for post-project maintenance as needed.

Comments regarding the proposed project and use of funds may be submitted within 30 days of this posting.
Comments may be issued via email to Candise Hendricks, Grant Analyst, at chendricks@montgomerytn.gov with the subject line, “HMGP Public Comment,” or mailed to Montgomery County Government, ATTN: Candise Hendricks, 1 Millennium Plaza, Suite 201, Clarksville, TN 37040.
All comments received will be forwarded to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as needed for review.
