TDH has an Important Announcement for Homeowners

January 13, 2022 - MoCo Gov.

Last Edited: April 20, 2022 @ 1:39 pm

Montgomery County, TN — On Jan. 11, 2022 the Tennessee Housing Department Agency (THDA) rolled out the Tennessee Housing Assist Fund Program (TNHAF) as a way to assist homeowners who have faced COVID-19 related hardships. Affected households may apply for up to $40,000 in assistance where the annual household income is less than $119,850.

The TANF funds can be used to catch up on payments and will pay up to six months of expenses moving forward. The funds can be applied more than once if a new COVID hardship is incurred.

The program is designed to assist homeowners with:

  • Mortgage payments
  • Past due HOA fees
  • Homeowner’s Insurance
  • Property Taxes

COVID-19 hardships include unemployment or underemployment resulting in a significant reduction of household income. Payments for qualifying households will be sent directly to the applicable organization(s) where the funding is due.

“This information could not have come at a better time with property taxes due by the end of February. Tennessee County Trustees just received this info and our office wanted to inform the public right away. Anything we can promote to alleviate hardships is a win for our homeowners,” said County Trustee Kimberly Wiggins.
